The Winter Dogs is the final name of Greg Heffley's basketball team, previously called the Huskies and an unspecified name (possibly Marconi's Sub Shop) before that. They participated in the Second Chance Tournament after a season of losses.
History[]
During the match against the Funky Dunkers. one of the players on the other team was injured so Susan had Greg fill in for the spot as a way to make the other team lose. Unexpectedly, Greg made a backwards shot during the last seconds of the game that made a basket. As a result the Funky Dunkers won the game while the Winter Dogs left the tournament as the worst basketball team. They're last seen watching Greg and the Funky Dunkers enjoying ice cream for their victory deeply regretting the aftermath of their decision.
