This unidentified first grader is a boy who plays the part of Toto during the play for The Wizard of Oz. He appears in Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the online book.[1]
History[]
Diary of a Wimpy Kid[]
When he is initially brought in by Mrs. Norton, the boy's mother makes her let him walk around upright, as she believes that crawling on all fours would be "degrading".[2][3] During the actual play, he brings a stack of comic books onstage to entertain himself, which pretty much ruins the entire dog effect.[4]
When Greg Heffley throws an apple at Patty Farrell, the rest of the trees join in as well, leading to Greg believing that even Toto may have also joined in.[5][6]
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010 film)[]
Although Toto walks on four legs, he actually participates during the opening of the play.[7]
Online[]
Greg claims Toto's classmates will still call him "Toto" in eighth grade due to the role. He also says that if the boy's mother didn't want him to do anything degrading, she should not have signed him up not signed him up to play a Scottish Terrier in front of a crowd.[8]
