Sergeant Peters is a sergeant in the police department in Plainview. He makes a cameo in Dog Days before officially being named in Cabin Fever.

Sergeant Peters makes a cameo when he shows up and almost arrests Frank Heffley after Greg Heffley calls the police with his Ladybug phone at Bayside Street. He and his assistant later show up on the Heffleys' TV at the baseball game.[1]
Cabin Fever[]
He makes a named appearance in as the cop who was trying to find out who vandalized the school claims to have a 'lie detector', which is really a photocopy machine which he claimed to be fool proof.
He also left a note to Heffley family saying "we came by but, but no one was home, we will come back later," which Greg Heffley thinks that Vice Principal Roy ratted him out to the police and they were going to arrest him because of the vandalism misunderstanding, but it turned out to be for the Christmas Toy Drive. Greg tried to give Alfrendo, but they said they only accepted brand new toys. However, according to Greg, the real reason they did not accept it was because they "got spooked" and both left in a hurry.
