Serge Houde is a Canadian actor that played Larry Salz in the Rodrick Rules (film). He is known for playing the roles of Jon Cassar's Emmy-nominated miniseries. "The Kennedys" playing the notorious Chicago mafia boss Sam Giancana opposite Tom Wilkinson and Barry Pepper.

Serge Houde, born on February 16, 1953, is a distinguished Canadian character actor in film and television.

His notable role in Jon Cassar's Emmy-nominated miniseries, "The Kennedys," where he portrayed the infamous Chicago mafia boss Sam Giancana alongside Tom Wilkinson and Barry Pepper, garnered acclaim. GQ's Tom Carson praised Houde's performance as "a terrific Sam Giancana," raising curiosity about the actor's absence in Martin Scorsese's previous works.[1]

Embarking on his acting journey at 35, Houde boasts an impressive portfolio with over 160 film and TV productions to his name.[2] In addition to his portrayal of Sam Giancana, he featured in the Seth Rogen-starring film "50/50," showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2011. In this movie, he played Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character's father and Anjelica Huston's character's husband, portraying a character afflicted with Alzheimer's. Houde also took on the role of The Doctor in episode 9 of "Mortal Kombat: Legacy," Kevin Tancharoen's web series inspired by the popular video game.

In 2014, Houde earned a Leo Award nomination for Best Guest Performance by a Male in a Dramatic Series for his compelling portrayal of drug kingpin David Thorpe in CTV's undercover cop series, "Played."[3] The subsequent year, he garnered attention for his poignant depiction of a homeless man with Tourette's in the acclaimed Canadian police drama "19-2."
