Rodrick Heffley's piranha-fish

Rodrick Heffley's piranha-fish was a pet bought during Dog Days and the online book. Its fate remains unknown in the books as it was never mentioned again but it was confirmed that it died in the online book.

When the Heffleys stopped at a pet store in the Plainview Mall, Rodrick Heffley spent his five bucks on a piranha-like fish that was labeled as "aggressive." Greg Heffley thought Manny bought fish food because wanted to feed the fish he and Rodrick bought though, he ended up eating half the canister when they came home.^[1]

Before their trip, Susan Heffley asked Greg if he could feed Rodrick's fish that was on top of the refrigerator. Rodrick's fish was living off of the algae growing in the bowel as he had never bothered to care for it. When Susan saw the algae, she put the fish in with Greg's angelfish. The piranha ended up eating Greg's fish during the trip.^[2]

In the online book, Rodrick's fish lives in a tank with Greg's angelfish and Manny's goldfish. Out of fear of the fish's "aggressive" label, Greg ensures he doesn't touch the water whenever he feeds his fish.^[3]

Later, it eats Manny's goldfish and attacks Greg's fish. When Greg noticed, he kept an eye on him even while he's eating.^[4]

Rodrick's fish seized an opportunity to eat Greg's fish when Ann moved the tank to the garage. But as a result, it became too overweight to move.^[5]

The fish finally dies of “natural causes” according to Frank, however Greg suspects some foul play as he saw it living 10 minutes prior and Frank walking out of the bathroom with an empty tank, implying he just flushed Rodrick's fish in the toliet.^[6]
