The Original Sketchbook is a cheap 1998 sketchpad written in a apartment where Greg first appeared before Diary of a Wimpy Kid was a published book. The only place where this is mentioned is in the The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary. A lot of ideas from the sketchbook was used in the first 8 books of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series were written in the same sketchbook. About 90% of the material didn't make the cut. The last idea was written around 2002.
