Ocean View Motel is a motel Greg Heffley stayed at when he was in kindergarten during the summer. He lost Tickles, his stuffed monkey, there. His family tried to search for him, but to no avail. Eventually, they had to leave, but Tickles somehow ended up on Greg's nightstand the next day. It was mentioned in Hard Luck.[1]

- The hotel's name is similar to that of a safe house in GTA Vice City, which is named the Ocean View Hotel.
