Come here, punk!
Mr. Beardo to Greg after the former's daughter accuses Greg of calling him a "Fat Beardo"

Mr. Beardo is the main antagonist of The Long Haul and its film adaptation. He only appeared in the film and book version.

In the book, he and his family went to a hotel where the Heffleys also stays in for the trip. After Greg scolded at his kids for making to much noise, he came out of the room chasing Greg, but Greg made an escape by putting a "Do not disturb" sign outside the door while Mr. Beardo was searching for him. He and his family were later also shown at the State fair and the water park. In the state fair, Greg hides from them, and in the movie only, Mr. Beardo saw Greg at the fair and chased him to a gravitron ride. Rodrick was there also, so then Mr. Beardo presses on Rodrick's stomach, causing him to throw up due to Rodrick eating a bunch of deep-fried butter-on-a-sticks. In the water park (book only), when Greg guesses 929 for the locker key, he assumes their stuff was gone and blames it on the Beardos. Near the end, the Heffleys raided the hotel room; however, Frank needed to use the bathroom and got seen by Mr. Beardo, so he runs out of the bathroom, throws the keys in the bushes, and is never seen again.

In the movie, Greg complains to Mr. Beardo's kids and Greg says that a random man is his dad. He later wakes up in the Beardos room and manages to escape.

Greg runs into Mr. Beardo at the country fair but escapes.

Mr Beardo then steals Meemaw's memory book as revenge. The Heffley family later raid their room and Greg sprays Shampoo in Mr. Beardo's eye.

  • Given estimations made based off of illustrations of him, Mr. Beardo is most likely between 5' 10" (177.8 cm) and 5' 11" (180.34 cm) tall. However, this is only conjecture, as his height has never been definitively stated within the series.
  • In the book, it turns out that he and his family were having a normal family vacation, and Greg and his family misinterpret the Beardos' intentions and unknowingly do bad stuff to them, with Greg falsely blaming it on Mr. Beardo. However, in the film, he and his family did more bad things to the Heffleys than in the book.
