Diary of a Wimpy Kid Wiki

Malvin and Malcolm are the twin sons of Aunt Gretchen, cousins to GregRodrick and Manny Heffley, and the nephews of Veronica, Cakey, Audra, and Susan Heffley. They are very wild and their mother, Gretchen, had to keep them on child-leashes when they were younger[1]. They are also quite mischievous and while they did not interact much with Greg, it can be presumed they cared little for him, as they scared Greg while he took a shower and then proceeded to take pictures of him naked.[2]

In Hard Luck, they play a fairly significant role during Greg's spring break. He mentions how they did dumb stuff in the previous year and caused a lot of stress for the Heffley family, like when Malvin got sent to the ER for getting hit in the forehead while playing catch with a chunk of concrete[3]. Then Malcolm shaved off his eyebrow and some of his hair using Frank's razor and nobody could do anything about it[4]. But in the current events, Malvin and Malcolm only stayed 2 days because Malcolm called 911 after the Heffley's ran out of ketchup, so Frank told them they had to leave[5]. They own lots of pets, including a rabbit that was said to be a male but gave birth to a litter unexpectedly.[6]

In Hot Mess, they go with the Heffley family on the trip to Ruttyneck Island. When everyone went to sleep, Malcolm and Malvin went on a snack run and turned on the lights, which woke up everyone in the living room. The twins are seen with the family for the rest of the book.

Appearance[]

Malvin and Malcolm are identical twin boys. They both have freckles, spiky hair, a big nose, and a unibrow. Their appearance bears similar to Rodrick.

Personality[]

Malvin & Malcolm seem to get into a lot of fights and play rough, frequently hurting each other. However, they seem to get along at times, such as when they played a prank on Greg or write bad words or images just to annoy their relatives. They appear to be so wild and unpredictable that Frank can't stand having them in the house and even Susan who's the more welcoming member of the family also appears to have her limits with them

Trivia[]

  • The first syllable of their names "Mal-" does appear to reflect their nature, as the prefix "Mal-" is a Latin root word meaning "bad". Both of their names have the letter M.
  • It's pretty much unknown who their father is, or what happened to him.
  • Many fans consider them and their mother to be the worst members of the Heffley family.
