Larry Larkin is an 18-year-old high schooler who does a speed metal guitar solo of a song called "Carnage" during the Winter Talent Show. He appears in Rodrick Rules and it's animated adaptation. He is voiced by Hudson Yang.

History[]

Rodrick Rules[]

Due to the fact that the talent show combines acts from three schools spanning kindergarten to 12th grade, Larry performs after a kindergartner who sang a song to her teddy bear. Halfway through his guitar solo, Frank Heffley makes a joke about Larry to the man sitting next to him who, unbeknownst to him, is actually Larry's father.

Rodrick Rüles (2022 film)[]

Larry was chosen as Löded Diper's replacement drummer for the Talent Show because the original drummer, Rodrick Heffley was grounded. But because magic was Larry's passion Löded Diper offered the role to Greg Heffley. He becomes the assistant for Rowley Jefferson's magic act and won.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Though Larry isn't mentioned by name in book ever again, characters that look very similar to him appear in three later books.
    • In Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, when Greg and Rowley do a prank with a dollar bill underneath the boardwalk, a teenager who looks like Larry is pranked by them.
    • In Double Down, someone who looks like Larry works at a cryogenics facility Greg discusses.
    • In The Getaway, a person who appears almost identical to Larry holds up the Heffley family at a security checkpoint because of how long it takes for him to take off all of his piercings. A person who looks like Larry is also seen at the Teen Zone with Rodrick.
  • It's possible that Larry Larkin is related to Tevin Larkin or Freddie Larkin, as they have the same last name. If he is the former's brother, then he is the son of Mrs. Larkin and probably lives on Speen Street.
