Jesus, also referred to as Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus Christ, and many other titles, was a real-life first-century Galilean preacher and religious leader from Roman-occupied Judea. He is the central figure of Christianity, and most Christians believe he is the incarnation of God the Son and the awaited Messiah, as prophesied in the Old and New Testament.
He is portrayed and indirectly mentioned throughout the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, making direct physical appearances in Dog Days and Cabin Fever.
History[]
Dog Days[]
One day, the church did a sermon called "Jesus in Disguise", in which it tells people to treat others with respect because they will never know if that person is Jesus. Greg finds this paranoid as he's afraid to guess wrong and be nice to people who are not Jesus.[1]
Cabin Fever[]
He is shown when Greg Heffley explains why he is happy that his birthday is months away from a festival. Greg describes Jesus as ungratefully thanking his relatives who give him the gifts since it counts towards his birthday and Christmas since he was born around December 25 (according to tradition, as the actual birthdate is unknown).[2]
Trivia[]
- Jesus, Noah, Shiva, Ezekiel, God, and arguably Zedekiah, are the only religious figures to appear or be mentioned in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
