Ice Cream Sundae Party! was a fake party set up as trap by the staff of Campers' Eden. This was a series of posters asking anyone with a squirt gun to redeem it at the lodge for an ice cream sundae in order to find the kids who made a huge mess at the snack shack in The Deep End.
Greg Heffley, knowing it was a hoax, finds Regular Marcus and warns him not to turn in his squirt gun and tells him to alert the others. However, it was too late as the others already reported to the lodge with their squirt guns, getting in trouble with the camp director.[1]
The director told them they would have to clean up the snack shack using only toothbrushes, but Juicebox rats out Greg by insisting that it was a misunderstanding and their ringleader "Jimmy Dogfish" told them to mess up the snack shack This causes Greg to retreat from the gang as the camp director was searching for the person behind the "Jimmy Dogfish" identity.[2] While Greg is never caught, he never joins any of the gang's activities again and only interacted with DooDoo for the rest of the book.
