Great Uncle Arthur (known as Great Uncle Clyde in the online book) is Greg Heffley's great-uncle and Susan Heffley's uncle-in-law. He is nonverbal, or does not talk much and only mutters sounds like 'muurp' and 'rrup'. He is also part of The Bachelors.
History[]
The Ugly Truth[]
He is first shown during a family meeting for Uncle Gary's wedding on the recliner. Greg says that he is sometimes confused about whether he's trying to communicate with him so he responds just in case. He is once again shown in The Bachelors sleeping with Rodrick.
Online[]
Arthur is replaced by Great Uncle Clyde, who stays at Greg's home for two days after Thanksgiving and has the same characteristics as him, with the exception of his appearance.[1]
When Clyde went home, Greg was allowed to invite Rowley Jefferson over for a sleepover.[2]
