Pete Hosey is the leader of a group of teenagers that sprayed water at Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson while they were trick or treating, serving as the main antagonist of the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid book and film. He is played by Nicholas Carey in the 2010 film adaptation of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Zeno Robinson in the 2021 animated movie.
History[]
Diary of a Wimpy Kid[]
He first appears with his friends: Wade and Carter. After Carter sprays water at Greg and Rowley during Halloween, Greg threatens him and his cronies that he will call the police. Hearing this, Pete chases them until they hide in Greg's grandmother's house. Greg and Rowley are able to escape but allows Pete and his friends toilet paper Gramma's house. [1]
Greg and Rowley encounters Pete near the end of the school year as Pete and his friends find them during recess. They pinned them and Pete forced Rowley to eat the Cheese and plans to do the same to Greg. But Greg lies about being allergic to dairy and was spared. Pete informs Greg on how lucky he is.[2]
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010 film)[]
Pete Hosey plays the same role with the only difference at the end where Pete was forcing Greg to eat the cheese despite his dairy excuse however was stopped when Eduardo Malone comes out and supposedly recognizes him, calling out his name.
Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid[]
Pete Hosey and his friends make a brief cameo in the chapter about the time that the teenagers forced Rowley to eat the Cheese.
Rodrick Rüles (2022 film)[]
According to a pamphlet that lists all of the acts of the Talent Show, he plays his EDM in act two.[3]

Trivia[]
- Unlike all the other antagonists, Greg, nor Rowley, know much about him.
- He is also the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid villain except Rodrick as he is the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid book.
- It's possible that Pete is related to Chris Hosey, as they have the same last name.
- Given that Coach Malone recognized him, it's possible that Pete attended Larry Mack/Westmore Middle School before or the two met earlier at one point.
- In the book, it is unknown which one of the teenagers is him, although it can be assumed that he is the driver.
- In the 2021 film, it can be assumed that he was changed to be an African American, given his appearance as well as his voice actor. However, this has not been confirmed by Kinney nor any staff that worked on the 2021 film.
