Choose Your Own Adventure is a real-life series of books. In Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, Susan suggests that the family continue on the road trip by voting to make choices, like in Choose Your Own Adventure books. Greg likes the series, but he can never seem to pick the "right" choice.[1] Greg brings up Choose Your Own Adventure again near the end of The Long Haul, where he says that he has to make a choice that feels like it's from the books.[2] He hopes he'll make the "right" choice.
