Coach Eduardo Malone is the gym teacher at Westmore Middle School in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Rodrick Rules. According to the song Exploded Diper, he apparently hates Loded Diper.

In the first film, he makes the class play a game which he calls 'gladiator'. Coach Malone later appears at the end of the movie when Pete Hosey and his friends are about to make Greg eat the Cheese. Coach Malone arrives and the teenagers run away.

In the second film, when Greg and Rodrick put fake vomit on people's cars. They put it on Coach Malone's car (not knowing it was his) and when Coach Malone sees it, he drops all his stuff. The Coach chases Greg and Rodrick but they escape into the mall and put their hoodies on two mannequins. When Coach Malone enters the mall, he tackles the two mannequins, thinking they are Greg and Rodrick. As Coach Malone lies on the floor with the broken mannequins while Greg and Rodrick escape.

In the third film, when Greg and Rowley try to phone Holly Hills, they call Coach Malone's number.

  • He replaces Mr. Underwood in the movies.
  • In Rodrick Rules, when Coach Malone tells Greg and Rodrick "You can't outrun me! I'm a super star!" "Everywhere you go it's me!" (while he is chasing Greg and Rodrick he is possibly referring to wrestler John Cena.)
  • His first name is revealed to be Eduardo in an interview with Thor Freudenthal, the director of Diary of a Wimpy Kid (film).
  • In Dog Days, Coach Malone's phone number is 555-4229 and he doesn't recognise Greg when he is talking on the phone.
