General Policy

Basic headings and text formatting helps articles look better and organizes it into different sections to make it easy for the reader to look what they want here lists the general formatting:

Intro Sentence

When starting a description of an article, be sure to bold the article name in the first sentence such as: PAGENAME is a.... If the character has a online alias make sure to also bold that in parentheses noting their appearance.

An example of a proper introduction sentence

There is one exception, which are pages about an unnamed character. In this case, make sure to start the sentence off by stating an unnamed character and bold the pronoun referring to the character.
Example:

  • This unidentified boy/girl/person/kid/teacher is the....

Links

There should not be any repeating links except for the Appearances heading and the Template row. Any links that links to one of our pages in most circumstances should include the full title.

  • A link to an article that is used in an article other than the current one can only be used once.
  • Do not add any content that isn't shown in the examples neither remove any content that is already appropriate to these standards.

A violation(s) of this policy will result in a warning or a block if the user who is responsible for his/her action(s) doesn't stop doing them.

Categories

Articles/Pages are classified into seven main categories:

Organizing Categories

Every page/article should have a section for the categories at the end of its content. The category section should be organized into the following order where X stands for "character" or "location":

  • What the page is (These are automatically added if there's an Info template present which every article should have)
  • How important the page is to the book/movie (does not include real people) for example:[[Category:Minor X]], [[Category:Major X]]
  • [[Category:Book-only X]] or [[Online-only X]]
  • [[Category:One-time X]]
  • [[Category:Unidentified characters]]
  • [[Category:Unnamed characters]]
  • [[Category:Characters with unknown last names]] (if it applies)
  • [[Category:X status]]
  • [[Category:Characters with a profession]]
  • [[Category:Gender characters]]
  • [[Category:Children]], [[Category:Teens]], [[Category:Adults]] or [[Category:Seniors]]
  • [[Category:Character's family]] (if they belong to a family that has its own page)
  • [[Category:Character's occupation]] (ex: Westmore Middle School students)
  • Books the character or location makes an appearance in. This is listed in order of the books. Ex: [[Category:Hard Luck X]]
    • Spin-offs the character or location makes an appearance in. Same rule as above
      • Movies the characters or location makes an appearance in. Same rule as above
  • Name of the books in order
  • Is X canonically part of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid universe? If so add [[Category:Diary of a Wimpy kid series]] Do the same for spin-off series
