Darlene is a widow and Grandpa's girlfriend in Hard Luck. She is the book counterpart of Maurlene from the online version as they both date Grandpa and comment on Rodrick when he opens the door for them.
She was mentioned in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School by Greg. According to Greg, after his grandpa was forced to move out of Leisure Towers due to not being able to afford the increased rent, Darlene broke up with him.
