Charlene (known as Cindy in the online book) was the second wife of Gary Heffley. She appears in The Ugly Truth and the online book.
On their third or fourth date, Charlene said she had $30,000-$40,000 dollars in her bank account, while Gary said he had forty-five. This miscommunication led her to believe that he was rich (she thought he meant $45,000 and not $45). She did not realize this until Gary was unable to pay for the band at their wedding. They divorced sometime after this.[1]
When Gary gets married the third time, Susan Heffley tapes the head of his new wife over Charlene's in their wedding photo.[2]
In the online book, Cindy states that she has $35,000-$40,000 in savings and Gary says that he has seventy in his account. He is later unable to pay for the bar tab at the wedding.
