Billy Staples (known as Sam Sharman in the online book) was a boy who bullied Frank Heffley and numerous other neighborhood kids during his middle school days. He appears in Cabin Fever and the online book.

Cabin Fever[]
When Greg Heffley complained about Nasty Pants to his dad, Frank tells him about his childhood bully whose method of bullying was cruel, involving pinning kids' arm behind their back until they started crying. He himself started crying after every kid that he picked on in the neighborhood told their parents and they came to his house to confront him. In the end, Mr. Staples made Billy promise not to bully kids again.[1]

Billy is known as Sam Sharman who was mentioned when Greg complained his dad about Herbie Reamer. Sam would grab a kid's skin and twist it around twice until he was stopped when all the neighborhood kids told the principal on him. [2] Sam cried and became an air conditioner repairman who is a really nice guy.[3]

- According to Frank, he might’ve even wet his pants when confronted by the parents.
- Sam's method of bullying is similar to an Indian burn.
