Bad Bradley is a book written by Susan Heffley prior to the events of The Third Wheel. The titular character is Bradley, a kid who terrorized Greg Heffley back in preschool. She wrote the book after he moved away.
Greg admits that while Bradley may have been a bad kid in real life, his mom's book portrays him as being much worse than he actually is (describing Bradley as "pretty much the Devil"). Bad Bradley is always doing evil things like biting teachers and poking his fingers into other kids' eyes. Just as Susan was thinking about publishing, Bradley and his parents ended up moving back to Greg's town, which made Susan put a stop to any plans she had of getting her book published.
Despite all that, Susan still uses it and reads it to Manny Heffley every night to try and get him to behave, which, according to Greg, is the reason why Manny is scared of other kids his age.[1]
