Anne of Green Gables is a real-life children's novel written by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Published in 1908, the book recounts the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year old orphan girl. The book appears in Dog Days.

As part of the Reading Is Fun Club's activities, Susan Heffley distributes several 'classic' books, including Anne of Green Gables, to the boys in the club for them to read, after she becomes dissatisfied with their book selections.
