Abe Hall is a boy who is mentioned in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He was the last person (in Westmore Middle School) to get the original Cheese Touch that originated with Darren Walsh. It is unknown if any kids in California got the cheese touch.
History[]
Diary of a Wimpy Kid[]
Abe got the Cheese Touch in April, one year before the events of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and failed to pass it on to anybody else, as no one would even come near him for the rest of the school year. Over the summer, Abe moved away to California and took the Cheese Touch with him, ending its presence at school until Greg Heffley resurrects it the following year (he takes the fall for his best friend Rowley Jefferson after a group of teenagers makes him eat The Cheese).[1]
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010 film)[]
In the live-action film adaptation of the book, Abe is renamed as Dieter Muller and his nationality is changed from American to German. He is depicted as a German exchange student who gets the Cheese Touch and is unable to pass it on, taking it with him when he moves back to his hometown of Düsseldorf, Germany during the summer.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2021 film)[]
Abe has the same role as he does in the books except for the fact that he is the same age as Rodrick Heffley, who is the one that informs Greg about the Cheese Touch.
Online[]
Abe Hall was mentioned in page 25 of the online book and plays virtually the same role. Greg notes nobody would sit at the same lunch table as him after he got the Cheese Touch.[2]
Trivia[]
- His birth name could likely be Abraham, as Abe is a nickname for such.
- Arabic versions of the books would probably name the character as Ibrahim, an Arab variant of Abraham.
